I've Been Bag Tagged!!

Thanks Catherine, sorry it took me so long!

The Rules:

You have to show your bag

Show all the contents in the bag, no cleaning it out first.

Bag tag 5 more people

Here is one of my favorite bags, I have quite a few so I like to trade off. This is a pretty big bag so it can hold a lot (I actually couldn't believe how much I had in it, a little embarassing), but believe it or not it doesn't way very much despite all the stuff. In my bag are the following items:

*Wallet

*Bag for girly stuff

*Bath and body works hand lotion and body butter and small bottle of face lotion

*Tide to go - a must have

*Hand sanitizer spray and one wipe (I'm running low).

*Small box for my pills - I get migraines a lot

*1 cough drop

*Dental floss

*Finger nail clippers

*Sample perfume for when I need to smell yummy

*3 pens

*Sunglasses

*Sudoku puzzle book

*Planner

*Creme savers tropical - love em

*1 small mirror

*Gum: Orbit Sweet Mint, Trident Pina Colada and Dentyne Cinnamon - you gotta have a variety

*Mentha Lip Stuff from Bath & Body Works tinted and nontinted - my favorite stuff

*One lip gloss and one regular chapstick

*Ipod

*Cell phone

*Eye drops

That's about it, not too exciting but I think I have all the essentials :) I want to see what Raquel D., Natalie S., Kandice A., Alysha N. and Teddy E. have in their bags! Anyone else that feels so inclined tag to you too!

Lately

Lately I have been addicted to a few tv shows. If you know me I have never been big into TV since my favorite show Friends ended and all the reality stuff started. I would much rather read a good book. When American Idol started 7 years ago my roomies in Cali got me hooked. Yes, I even have 3 other shows I've become hooked on. I never thought I'd see the day but I needed something to occupy my time since I can't be obsessive over Edward anymore. I used to just watch them, but yep you guessed it, starting last season I really got into it and even voted.
All the shows are on around the same time and if I watched them all straight through I would never have a life. Thank goodness for TIVO/DVR cause I just tape them all then watch them at my convenience, fast forward through the commercials or parts I don't like, and turn a 1 hour show into 2o minutes, it's great.

AMERICAN IDOL
Ahhh David Archuleta, what's not to love! He is so dang cute and such a good singer and at such a young age! There are a few contestants I like this year but he is by far my favorite. And...he's even from Utah! I even love the judges, Simon cracks me up, Randy always says the same thing and half the time I think Paula is drunk - it adds so much spice to the show.
DANCING WITH THE STARS
I think I love this show because I love dancing but never get to do it (Shayne isn't a big fan) so I just get my fix by watching all these amazing dancers and their students. It is definitely not as good as the real thing but I love it. These were last seasons winners: Julianne is another one from Utah along with her brother who also is a dancer (Derek) on the show. Glad to see Utah is representing! All the professionals are amazing I don't think I can pick a favorite. It just kills me cause they all have such smokin' bodies - I like to think if I danced all day everyday, and got paid for it, mine would be that way too.

THE BACHELOR

Why wouldn't you like this show? Cute guys trying to find true love, it's so romantic and sappy, I just can't get enough! Don't even get me started on Brad from last season - what a weenie! Still haven't decided about this new guy, but if nothing else he does have the accent going for him!

THE HILLS

Oh the drama! I don't even know when I started on this one but I continue watching and waiting to see who's going to fight next, who will fall in love..... Everyone needs a bit of drama now and then right?

Spring Break & Easter: warning long and lots of pics

We had quite the eventful Spring Break this last week. It started with our friends from NC, Sam & Amy, staying over for a few nights. It was so good to see them, and their little girl Grace is too cute. She couldn't get enough of our dogs and walked around saying dog (pronounced gog in her language) and doing the sign for them all day long (literally). If I can ever figure out how to upload my videos I will post it, it is so funny! Chef Amy gave me a few new good recipes and gave me some healthier food choices that I am excited to start having in my diet: hummus just to name one, who'd of thought I actually like the stuff. We were sad to see them leave but then Shayne's parents and Grandma came into town. They were here for the entire spring break and we were sad to see them go. I think this is the first time we have been home sick since being here. I knew it would happen eventually. We went to DC for most of the week and saw all the great sites and museums. Then, we came home for a few days to relax and recoup (running around DC is tiring). I felt like Easter didn't really happen this year. I think we were all just too tired to put in any effort but I was a little bummed - I missed all the traditions of the Easter bunny coming with baskets, hunting for eggs and coloring my lips with the candy eggs, and most of all dying eggs. We had a good sacrament service which was nice to reflect on the true reason for Easter - I am so grateful for the sacrifice of our Savior and the atonement. All in all, it was fun to get away and be with family and friends and....most importantly, to actually have my husband back for a whole week. Can't wait til June when he has another break!

We took the "scenic route" to DC but it didn't end up being very scenic seeing as everything was still brown. Along the way we shopped at some outlets and tried probably 3 different times to find the DC temple. We saw it from the freeway and snapped a pic but couldn't find the darn thing ever. Once home we showed Shayne's family around Columbus - the temple, Shayne's dental school etc. His parents are some of the only people we know that genuinely love White Castle. They were sad they didn't make it there, but we weren't complaining!

PEEPS!!!

Seeing as Easter is just around the corner I thought it appropriate to post about my favorite Easter treat - PEEPS!  It seems as though people either love or hate them.  I am a lover of them for sure.  Shayne on the other hand can't stand them.  They are even better if you leave them out for a bit so they get kind of crunchy!!  If you've never tried them that way you should, you may just find you actually like them.  I think it's funny that they just used to come around at Easter and now they have them for almost every holiday - guess that means they must be popular.  I'm not complaining, but for some reason I love them most at Easter!  So...let's see what you all think take the poll above, do you like peeps or not?

Are you feeling my pain?

All I have to say is what is up with the gas prices? I left for work in a hurry needing gas yesterday and it was $3.09. I got home and it was $3.45!!!!!!!!! Sure wish I would have not waited. The news said to expect it to keep climbing and be at least $4 by summer. What do these people (gas price raisers) think we are made of, money? I just wish we had a better form of public transportation like a metro or subway then I wouldn't have to worry about it. For now I will just vent on my blog and suck it up and pay because I have to! Thanks a lot gas raiser people what will it be next?

SNOW DAYS!

So if you haven't already heard we had a huge snow storm. I've been told that 1978 was actually the last time a storm like this came through Ohio. It snowed for almost 24 hours straight starting on Friday until about 7pm Saturday night. It would have been no worse than any snow storm we were used to in Utah however, they don't plow the roads here so it was bad. Since they don't get snow like this here often they actually have storm warnings: Level 2 means the roads are hazardous and you shouldn't drive unless you have to. If it elevates to a Level 3, you can actually get a ticket for being on the roads! EVERYTHING closes down and nobody drives on the roads. With the winds picking up they even had it as a blizzard warning so..... you can see why people here kind of freak out. Even the plows get scared to go out I guess! Friday they completely closed one freeway because 5 semi's wrecked. They cancelled me being on call for work Saturday night because it was too dangerous to go out, they even cancelled our enrichment and church this morning!! I kept telling my family how jealous I was of all the snow in Utah - no more complaining now!
I made it home safe from work Friday night (took me 1 hour and usually only takes 15min) but then haven't left the house since. Raquel braved the weather, against the warnings (we Utahns know how to drive in the snow right!!) and came over. She barely made it, and once she got here it really wasn't safe to leave so we had a sleepover - yay so much fun!! She brought her puppy Boxer and now "the girls" have a new boyfriend to fight over :) It was nice having her here because Shayne was studying at a friends and got "stuck" there so he ended up having a sleepover too.
To pass the time we made lots of cards, chatted and sang to our hearts content, watched and laughed as the dogs played (videos to come as soon as I can get them to work) and watched some fun movies. Thanks Raquel for such a fun time while we were stuck inside!
This is how high the snow was when I woke up Saturday - it still snowed the rest of the day, you get the idea!
It's hard to tell from this pic but if you look the road is between the end of this shoveled area and the other condos - not plowed at all, just as high as the rest!
This is kind of blurry but you can see how much there was and this was still just Saturday morning!
I had to take a picture of my finished product. I shoveled this whole bad boy so Raquel could pull in. I paid for it the next morning (I could hardly move my back hurt so bad) and despite my efforts Raquel got stuck coming in anyway because of all the snow on the road (A neighbor had to help us dig her out!)
Belle and Zoey's new boyfriend - BOXER!!
Here are just a few of the cards I made over the last 2 days. What do you think am I getting any better? I sure hope so!!

What's In a Name?

Well apparently nothing considering these statistics. I thought Sherri Perry was pretty unique (I've never known anyone else with that full name) in fact I rarely ever met other people with just the first name Sherri until I moved here to Ohio, and I swear I have met so many now. I am one of three just at my work. I think at least half of those 94,00 people must live here. I wasn't surprised at all about Perry other than I thought there would actually be more than the number they said. But, 88 with the full name of Sherri Perry is quite a lot I think. Anyway, I thought this was kind of fun so now you see, how many have your name?

DENTAL WIVES GNO

One of the other dental wives (Candice) and I decided that since our husbands spend every waking hour together at school, maybe we should get to know all the other 1st year student's wives. So, we started a dental wives club. Quite a few of my friends at other schools already have these but for whatever reason we didn't, it's basically just a glorified name for a big GNO. The plan is to get together once a month and do something fun. Some of us already know each other but we know there are still many others we don't. We had our first official get together on Friday night and it was tons of fun. We went it our pj's and talked, ate mounds of yummy junk food and watched a fun movie. It was kind of short notice this month so quite a few of the girls couldn't come. It was still fun and I look forward to next month when we can hopefully meet even more people and have lots more fun! Thanks Katie for hosting at your house!!
We didn't get everyone in the pic but this is a few of us that were there!
