Catching Up

You all may not care what we have been up to lately, but since this is currently the only journal I keep, I need to update it so I can remember what has been happening! To spare you the longest post ever I went a little crazy with the collages.
-----------------------------------------------------
RIVALRY WEEKEND
Such a fun football weekend, especially when your teams do so well! We had fun watching the games with friends, food and laughter. We were too busy watching the games to catch any pics!
I can think of one other thing that matters besides beating Michigan......Utah beating BYU, it never gets better than that!!!
---------------------------------------------------------
THANKSGIVING
This year for Thanksgiving we did something different and totally untraditional. We stayed over night at a hotel/waterpark. We went Wed and swam all evening then stayed up late playing games, talking, and eating. We woke up and swam all day and then ate a wonderful Thanksgiving buffett that the hotel provides. It was so nice to be with such great company and especially nice not to have to cook!! I will have to say I missed not having leftovers but I have a turkey I will make later just to make up for it!
The guys couldn't get enough of the basketball
Of course everyone thought Shayne had to go back to his Indian roots and pose by this statue, the whole place is Indian themed
----------------------------------------------------------
PIE PIG OUT
Our friends hosted a pie pig out before Thanksgiving. The idea is that you are too full after your big Thanksgiving feast to really enjoy your dessert/pie. So we had it early so we could indulge and fully enjoy. Enjoy we did, I think I ate too much cause I ended up feeling sick after. I just had to have a sliver of everything, could you say no?
---------------------------------------------------------
NUTCRACKER BIRTHDAY
My niece was turning 5 in October. She invited me to her birthday party up in Michigan, when I heard it was a Nutcracker theme I just couldn't miss it. Her mom, Kasey always goes all out and it was so cute. She made these tutus for all the girls (sugar plum fairys) that they got to take home. The boys were soldiers and had swords. The party started with watching the Nutcracker and dancing. Then a picnic with pizza. Later the kids got to paint their own nutcrackers and then went to the Land Of Sweets and filled candy bags to take home. Of course there was presents and a yummy chocolate cake too.
I was also able to watch her ballet class, they were so stinkin cute!
---------------------------------------------------------
University of Utah vs Notre Dame
Shayne went on a 3 day guys trip. They went to Chicago and to the Utah/Notre Dame game. Unfortunately Utah didn't win and it rained the whole time but I'm sure they had fun nonetheless. Of course boys are never good at taking pics, this was the only one they took.
The infamous touchdown Jesus
----------------------------------------------------------
THE WORLD'S DUMBEST SHOW ON EARTH Out here every October there is a fair called the Circleville Pumpkin Show. Their slogan is The Greatest Free Show on Earth. We had been wanting to go and see what all the hype was about and I am sorry but it totally sucked!!!! There is no better way to put it. I can't believe everyone was telling us to go, I don't know what they saw in it that we didn't but apparently we missed something. All I can say was I was glad it was free, I was mad enough I wasted a whole day going as it was. They had people carving huge pumpkins and the worlds biggest pumpkins, I guess they were pretty cool but I didn't need to drive 2 hours to see them.
The only remotely good part about it was all the fair food. They had everything you can imagine pumpkin flavored. However, they of course were out pumpkin doughnuts! We settled for pumpkin ice cream and were so disappointed. We kept laughing cause it tasted exactly like eggnog. I think they hoped they could call it pumpkin and we wouldn't notice.
Ok so the funnest part was the people watching. There are soooo many people there in every variety. I just can't understand what attracts them all. So for those of you that have never been, here is your warning that I wish I would have had before we went......Don't Waste Your Time!
---------------------------------------------------------- LEEDS FARM
They have a lot of pumpkin farms out here where you can pick your own pumpkin. The girls decided to go one day and check it out, the boys opted out. The kids had so much fun. Who was the genius that thought of a corn box instead of sand? The kids could have spent hours there and I probably could have too. There was a little petting area, and a play area with a slide and tunnel to run through and haystacks to climb on. They also had this getto banana boat that was pulled by a tractor.

GRANDPA REGEHR'S FUNERAL
My dear Grandpa passed away in October. It was kind of sudden and luckily I was able to make it up to Canada for his funeral. It was a great service and so great to see so much family I haven't seen in forever. My Grandpa was truly one of the most amazing people I have ever known. I am so grateful to know that I can see him again someday and that he is with his eternal companion now. He has left quite a legacy and I will never forget him. Even though it was a sad time it was so good to see family!
The saddest part was knowing we wouldn't be back to this house ever again and that it was our last time staying there. I have so many memories here!
Just a few of the places we would go a lot for groceries, candy etc. that I don't want to forget

CONGRATULATIONS SHAYNE
I feel bad I didn't dedicate a whole post to Shayne just for this but at the beginning of my pregnancy I was soooooo tired I just couldn't get anything accomplished. Hence the lengthy catch up post. Shayne was accepted to endodontic school. For those of you who don't know what that is, it is a specialization/residency that is 2 years following his completion of dental school. An endodontist deals souly with root canals. It is very competitive and I am so proud of him for how hard he has worked all through dental school to get this far. He was accepted to 4 schools and although Florida's sun was calling we decided to stick around here at Ohio State!
I really wanted to do something nice for Shayne to congratulate him. One of Shayne's fellow dental students, Beau is an amazing carpenter and can make just about anything. I collaborated with him and he made Shayne a corn hole set for me. For those of you that don't know what corn hole is, it is a game where you throw bean bags into a hole. Sounds totally lame but it is all the rage out here and you can't help but jump on the wagon. The corn hole set was made completely by Beau and hand painted too. He did a fabulous job. Corn hole sets are quite pricey to buy in the store and they aren't even this nice. Shayne was sooooo suprised, and I was so excited because it is almost impossible to surprise him. Beau did a great job of keeping a secret too. Anyway, you can see the pictures speak for themselves. Thanks Beau, you are amazingly talented and CONGRATULATIONS babe, I am SO proud of you!!!
