When we lived in Utah I used to think I knew what cold was - was I ever wrong. So wherever you live, if you think it's cold let me just say in my opinion, YOU DON'T KNOW COLD UNTIL.......
-Your car door is frozen shut and you can't even turn your key because that's frozen too
-You experience freezing rain and everything outside starts to shine with ice; trees, lamp posts, stop signs, you name it
-It is so cold that your nose starts to run and then it freezes to the outside of your nose. Yep this really happens people maybe not quite as dramatic as in Dumb and Dumber but you get the picture
-You have on 10 layers of clothes and you can still feel it penetrating your skin
-Your pipes burst and your house floods
-They cancel school on a regular basis and have 2 hour + delays almost daily, not because it's snowing but because it is soooo cold or there is so much ice
-Your own dogs who usually love to go out and play in the snow turn around and run when you open the door to let them out
-Your car won't start
-You walk outside and it literally takes your breath away and when you finally can breathe the air is so cold it hurts your lungs
-Your eyelashes turn to icicles
-It's so cold you feel like your bones or cold - this one doesn't make much sense unless you have actually experienced it
-Even once you go inside you shake uncontrollably because you just can't get warm
-When you find yourself wishing you were in Utah not just because you miss it there but because you know you wouldn't be as cold
-The sun never shines, literally making it impossible to feel any heat or even have the potential to get warmer
-When you go outside when it's 30 degrees without a coat and think it's warm

So yes it is freezing and bitter cold out here right now and let's just say I'm done with it. I don't write this so much to complain as to let the rest of you that think you're cold be grateful that you may not be quite as cold as us and if you are then you have our sympathy. I keep dreaming of lying on a beach somewhere yet I still find myself sitting here as cold as I was 10 minutes ago because I just can't seem to get warm. All in all one lesson has come of this. When we leave here we WILL be moving somewhere warm. All of you that live somewhere warm, I am outrightly jealous and wish I was you right now!!

Amen to the whole thing. Most of those have happened to me during our sojourn in Ohio. Yuck. And Indianapolis is about the same temp. But AFTER that, please let it be warmer!
ahhhhhh.....i need a beach too! it really is true...ohio winters are brutally cold, and the crappy part is that there's no snow to make the cold worth it!
I couldn't agree more> I can't wait for the spring and the summer. I just want to be laying out at the pool with you like last year. I love feeling the heat, it's so relaxing. But a beach does sound super fantastic right now.
I feel your pain! I know we don't have the humid cold, but we reach temps of -70. When this happens your windshield wipers freeze to the windshield and break off. We went snowmobiling in -30 once and Jeff's eyelashes had frost on them. So yes I feel your pain and I wish everyday that I lived in Arizona or Las Vegas or sunny California. Some day we will both be warm again. So Sorry until then!!!
Amen to all of that, Sherri. I hate January and February in Ohio. It plain sucks! The winter wind we get up here in Toledo makes me want to shrivel up and die.
I actually groam when the alarm clock goes off because I know I'm gonna have to put my poor warm little toes out in that COLD cold air and the distance from my bed to the bathroom and a steaming hot shower seems to get LONGER the colder it is! :)
I know!!! I am sick of the cold too. Summer could not come sooner!!! At least the sun was shining today. It's such a rare occurance these days that I just sat by my window closed my eyes and enjoyed the sun hitting my face. Of course it was too cold to enjoy it outside. For now this will have to do.

Ewwww...I am so glad I live in AZ(70 today...Just had to mention it). I really got tired of the cold in Utah, so there is no way I could live there.

I feel depressed! I HATE the cold & Ohio winters suck the life out of me. I don't even remember what a blue sky looks like. Lets go on vaca - somewhere HOT!
they need more places that exist in the U.S. that are warmer in the winter then that way those places won't be as expensive to live. I hate winter--boo!
Las Vegas is sounding better and better to me...although I will be hating life in July, mark my words! Hope you are warm and relaxing today!
